Here is a ex. rare artifact from the J.B. Maxfield, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Stoneware company it is a used advertising envelope from 1857 notice the old Germanic spelling of Milwaukee on the postmark Milwaukie.  From the Jon Steiner Collection.
