J.B. & A. Maxfield Milwaukee WI 4 Gallon Ovoid JUG

John B. & Amos Maxfield, Milwaukee, WI, 1854-1855. This is a massive 4 gallon ovoid jug. This is the largest ovoid jug I am aware of from the state of Wisconsin. It is decorated with the typical flower and number 4 in cobalt along with a scraphito number 4 carved into the front of the spout.  From the Jon Steiner Collection.
